Test Your V4 Integration

Testing your integration is an important step in making sure that Rejoiner is tracking all customer activity on your site. To do this, we’ve developed the tutorials below to help you verify that everything is set up correctly and data is passing accurately.

Testing on Staging Environments:

If you’re deploying the Rejoiner v4 JS into a staging or testing environment – different from your production website – we will need to set up a separate property inside of your Rejoiner account. To do so, please email devops@rejoiner.com with the full URL of your staging environment.

Test with Developer Tools

Once you've connected your website to Rejoiner, using developer tools in your browser is the best way to verify that the integration is set up correctly.

Browse Your Store.

To verify that browsing activity is being captured, we need to test that the pages on your site are being tracked by Rejoiner. Follow the steps below to test:

  1. Inside of your Rejoiner account, click Settings 
  2. Then, click Domain
  3. Set your "Buffer" to 1 Minute, then click Save Domain Settings
  4. Clear your cookies & cache or use the incognito function of your browser. If you're not sure how to do this, here are instructions.
  5. Open a new browser window.
  6. Create a user account on your site and fill any required user information needed.
  7. Once you're logged in, browse your store's catalogue and click on any product page.
  8. Do not add the item to cart.
  9. Return to your store's main page and browse some more while also viewing a couple of other product pages.
  10. Once you're done browsing simply close the browser window.
  11. Wait 1 Minute, then check your Rejoiner dashboard.
  12. You should now see the browse abandon activity marked on your Rejoiner dashboard. 
    1. You will see the email of the user account you created.
    2. You will also see $0.00 cart value as no items were carted.
  13. If you are expecting to receive test browse abandon emails, verify the status of your campaign, and the interval that your first email is set for.

Abandon Your Checkout Form

The most important test to complete is abandoning a transaction on your staging or production website. Here's a step-by-step walkthrough on how to test efficiently:

  1. Inside of your Rejoiner account, click Settings 
  2. Then, click Domain
  3. Set your "Buffer" to 1 Minute, then click Save Domain Settings
  4. Clear your cookies & cache or use the incognito function of your browser.
  5. Open a new browser window, visit your site, and add several items to cart.
  6. Begin the checkout process, making sure that an email address is captured at some point.
  7. Abandon the checkout process by closing your browser window.
  8. Wait 1 Minute, then check your Rejoiner dashboard.
  9. You should now see the abandoned transaction on your Rejoiner dashboard. 
  10. You may also use the Account Monitor feature under Implementation to verify that your test abandon was successfully tracked. 

  11. If you are expecting to receive test emails, verify the status of your campaign, and the interval that your first email is set for.

Complete a Test Order

On the web property where you have Rejoiner tracking installed, complete a test order and verify that the conversion was tracked.

  1. Clear your cookies & cache.
  2. Complete a test order by adding a few items to cart and complete the order. 
  3. Inside of your Rejoiner account, click Implementation
  4. Verify that the conversion was tracked by noting the "Last Tracked" event for Conversions in the Account Monitor section.
